‘Dying Light,’ ‘Schacht,’ and University Students Becoming Indie Devs: Fist Fight Ep. 4

Intro: 00:00

Dying Light debate: 06:50

Schacht Interview: 48:30

Welcome to Fist Fight, Goombastomp’s newest podcast, made in collaboration with Quiet Stories. There are plenty of podcasts out there that cover the latest news and reviews, so why would we try and compete? Each week Chris (myself) and Casey talk about a single game. One of us argues why it is a great game worth playing, while the other tries to poke holes in their argument and play devil’s advocate. We then say goodbye to Casey for the second half of the show, while I sit down with an indie developer and discuss great titles you may not have heard of and game development tips.

This week Casey tries to nitpick when it comes to the amazing Dying Light, and we sit down with the Schacht team to discuss how they transitioned their game from a university project, to a commercial product.

For better or worse, the final character in the Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass has been revealed along with the reveal that there’ll be six additional DLC characters. To make Nintendo’s job just a little earlier and to prevent any potential disappointment down the road, the Game Boys have taken it upon themselves to pick six incredible new characters that should be featured in the next Fighter Pass. In true Smash fashion, however, having picked four characters each, each Game Boy has to fight for their character selections to be part of the collective six character roster. Ready? Go!
