‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ Gets A Season Six Update That Embraces The Spooky Season

Tis the season for the ghosts and ghouls to make their appearance and as we approach October 31st, various games are getting Halloween themed updates. Call of Duty: Warzone is no exception but the update has provided some surprisingly yet hilarious cosmetics.

The sixth season update- called the Haunting of Verdansk update- adds a new mode called Zombie Royale where dead players will resurrect as zombies. Even though they can’t carry weapons, they can jump and run way faster than normal. They also have a thermal vision, just in case, the super speed wasn’t enough to freak you out. This mode is limited time for the Halloween season though so if you want to have a go at eating people’s brains during a battle royale, now is the perfect chance to do so.

Another element of the Warzone season six update are new unlockable items and cosmetics based on some silver screen horror legends. You can unlock these items via gameplay but of course, it is always quicker to just buy them. Got to get in those microtransactions somewhere. The film based items come in bundles that are based on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and SAW film franchises. This includes a skin for Morte based on the iconic Billy the Puppet from SAW, so prepare for an odd mix of fear and ridiculousness. Do you want to play a game? Sorry, that is so cliché but irresistible. My only gripe is that the skin doesn’t seem to include Billy’s tricycle. There is a tricycle charm included in the SAW bundle but it just isn’t the same. A missed opportunity I say. The SAW bundle also includes a special weapon called “The Phlebotomozier Lethal Equipment piece”, which is a knife that drills into people when you throw it at them. Great stuff. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre bundle comes with a Leatherface skin for Velikan as well as an LMG blueprint and stock attachment to give the effect of wielding a chainsaw. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys pretending to chop people up into little bits with a chainsaw, then what is wrong with you? Get some help.

The Call of Duty: Warzone Season Six update is available now. Make sure to check out the official Call of Duty blog for all the information on what you’ll get with the update.
