WoW Forever Leveling: What Is New on the Road from 1 to 60
World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific. The level cap is 60, and the opening raid unlock is scheduled for December 9. That leaves about 5 weeks in which leveling is the whole game for most players. Forever adds more than 1,000 new quests to that climb, so the road to 60 looks different from the one veterans remember.
A Bigger Map to Level Through
The largest addition is The Riverglades, a new zone for the mid-30s to mid-40s. It holds more than 150 quests and is about the size of Stranglethorn Vale. It sits in an area that was closed in the original game, between Burning Steppes, Redridge, Swamp of Sorrows and the Badlands. Its port town is Powderfuse Port, and its quests involve gnolls, ogres, goblins and the Twilight’s Hammer.
Existing zones grow too. Wetlands gets new quests. Desolace gets centaur faction quests with faction rewards. Every starting zone gets new characters, quests and profession hooks.
Players with an upgrade pack can start as the new Skyborne race. Skyborne characters begin on Zephras Isle, a starting zone for levels 1 to 12.
Dungeons Along the Way
Forever adds 9 new dungeons with set level ranges. The Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge opens the list at levels 13 to 18. Krol’dok Stronghold covers 40 to 45. Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace close the climb at 55 to 60 and 58 to 60.
Dungeons have no level scaling. Arriving at the right level matters, and an underleveled group will feel it. Crowd control also matters again: Polymorph, Banish, Fear and Root all have a job. Unique dungeon boss items are now blue quality, and the dungeons add hundreds of new drops.
Legacy Points Make Alts Faster
The Legacy System rewards the account. Players earn Legacy Points through Legacy Challenges, such as leveling a class or reaching a skill milestone. Points are shared across all characters and spent separately on each one.
The points go into 3 Legacy Trees: Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. One example is Well Rested, which raises rested experience gain and the rested cap. At launch each character can spend up to 16 points, and up to 65 can be earned. A 2nd character therefore starts with perks the 1st one had to earn.
Small Bonuses That Add Up
Crafted food now grants a small experience bonus on top of its stat boost. Each profession also makes camping objects, and the 1st ones unlock at profession skill 20, so a profession pays off early in the climb.
Mounts change as well. A mount comes with the riding skill when you train it, in the style of The Burning Crusade. Forever has no flying mounts, so ground speed carries the whole journey.
How to Plan Your Climb
- Agree on a ruleset with your friends. Grouping works only inside a ruleset, so a split group cannot share dungeons.
- Reserve names early. Early Name Reservation runs from October 27 to November 3 for players with an upgrade pack, for up to 3 characters.
- Plan dungeons by bracket. Each dungeon has a fixed range, so a route that hits The Hall of Thanes at 13 and Krol’dok Stronghold at 40 makes the most of every run.
- Pick your pace. Players short on time before the December raids can look at a WoW Forever leveling boost from LFCarry, which offers full 1 to 60 routes and custom level brackets. Compare the format, schedule and refund terms before booking, and read Blizzard’s account rules if a service involves account access.
Forever keeps the cap at 60 and fills the road to it with new zones, dungeons and account perks. Players who plan the route before November 4 will spend launch week playing it.
